Underwear. We ALL wear it, and it has become a very sexualized part of a man’s life. As little kids, we wear briefs, as we get older we develop into what we find the most comfortable or attractive. It doesn’t seem to matter who we are with, but buying underwear can be an awkward experience. Personally, I don’t dislike shopping for those needed things like underwear, socks, and muscle tops, but I hate that the section of the store isn’t closed off to the opposite sex. There is nothing more uncomfortable as a 17 year old male than being asked by a woman in her forties “What kind of underwear do you wear? I need to get some for my son and he didn’t want to come out.” That happened today! It really shouldn’t be awkward, and I helped her choose some for her son, but it is still really uncomfortable. Men don’t buy bras for women, Hell, most men won’t walk through that section of a store! Either way, I think we are made to feel awkward about what we wear under our clothes. I personally have no problem if someone sees that I’m wearing a certain brand, and it should be socially acceptable to talk about your underwear. That’s why I am posting this today. It sounds weird, but take pride in the fact that you wear what makes you comfortable. So as you can see from the image with the cat head, that is a VERY sexualized photo; he is grabbing his crotch and he is only wearing those boxers. Then there is a photo of another guy in his boxers, and so on. It’s all normal. The reason I like the way Calvin Klein advertises is because they don’t put the people in extremely sexual poses. So that is my underwear rant! I’ll eventually do an article on sizing and brands.
